My favorite thing about working at Snooze is the fun, bright vibes of our work environment. Although I’m a barista and business owner, my job as a mother always comes first. I have an amazing five-year old son who is about to start kindergarten this Fall.
Something that I hope to teach my son is the celebration of our culture, and that includes Juneteenth. Juneteenth is important to me because it’s a representation and a reminder that people who look like me deserve to be free and live freely in this world.
Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday has been a long time coming, but it’s only a stepping stone in the changes that need to happen on this side of the world. Now, living in Texas, it’s especially important for me to recognize the significance and importance of Juneteenth, as Texas was last state to be informed about the end of slavery on June 19, 1866.

We are so excited to partner with The Trevor Project for the second year in a row. The Trevor Project is the world’s leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.
The Trevor Project operates several programs to help prevent and respond to the public health crisis of suicide among LGBTQ young people, including free, confidential, and secure 24/7 crisis services, innovative research, advocacy, public education, and peer support.

I’ve been working at Snooze Ballpark for over 9 months after moving from Florida to Denver, Colorado. My favorite thing about working here is the overall atmosphere. I feel lucky to work with such an amazing group of people.
June is Pride month, and I’m celebrating as someone who is new to the LGBTQ+ community. I came out when I was 30 years old, after being in a 10-year Hetero marriage.Since my divorce, I changed career paths and moved to Denver for a fresh start in my life. I felt so much support from the TikTok community knowing that there were people out there going through the same thing as me.
If I could share some words of encouragement to young people in the LGBTQ community, it would be to embrace your uniqueness.
As I continue to navigate my own journey, I hope that my story can bring inspiration to people in the LGBTQ+ community who may be struggling to find their voice and their place in the world – just know that you’re not alone.

My favorite part about working at Snooze is that I know it’s a safe space where I can work and be myself. A place where I can express who I really am, without judgement.
Growing up in Mexico, I would always express myself through painting. I wasn’t surrounded or introduced to the LGBTQ community until I moved to the United States in 2015. The same year that I moved to the United States, I attended my first Pride Parade. In that moment I was accepted, welcomed, and cared for by the incredible LGBTQ+ community.
I watched RuPaul’s Drag Race and was inspired to use my painting skills to express myself through makeup. I spent a lot of time perfecting my craft from YouTube videos and was able to show people my art expression through social media.
Pride Month means the world to me because even though I can celebrate myself all year long, Pride is a time to remind everyone and ourselves that love is love, that it’s great to be different, and that our community can be stronger together.

Meet Tosha, Snooze Mothership
Talent Acquisition Manager
I’ve been working at the Snooze Mothership in Denver, CO for over 6 months as a Talent Aquisition Manager.
My passion outside of work is competing in pageants. It started as a fun hobby and has turned into a way to share my story and allow my voice to be hearn by a larger audience.
I am currently Mrs. Colorado International and my platform, “Imperfectly Perfect,” focuses on teaching the importance of mental, physical and emotional health, and how each of those is vital to living a healthy life.
Mental health should not be taboo in any part of scoiety, but especially at work. Taking a mental health day or going to therapy should not be something we feel like we need to hide at work. The more we talk about it and make it normal, the more likely people around us will be honest about their struggles and reach out if they need help.
I’m grateful to work for a company who accepts me as who I am and lets me share my story. Snoozers are passionate and dedicated to make the world around them a better place. I feel so lucky to be a part of a company that’s making an impact in the world today.

Head Chef
I’ve been working at Snooze for over two years, and it has become my home away from home. As a Filipino, our culture is set on family. At Snooze, we’ve created a family atmosphere. Knowing that I can come into Snooze each morning and always be excited about the people that I get to work with, it honestly doesn’t feel like work to me.
Cooking is my passion. My goal is to have my own Filipino fusion restaurant someday. I am always experimenting with different Filipino family recipes and playing with ways that I can make traditional recipes vegan.
This month is important to me because my parents left the Philippines in hopes of giving their children a better life than they had. I want to be able to honor them in a way that shows how much our culture continues to live in and through me in my day-to-day life.
Individuality is my favorite point of our compass at Snooze, and if I could give advice to my younger self, I would say: be your true authentic self, know what makes you happy, and go for it.

Meet Jenia “J Squishyy”, Snooze Westmister

Always on the go, I’ve enjoyed being the ‘J of All Trades’. I played and excelled at just about everything I could sign up for while growing up: Soccer, Football (yes, with the boys), Choir, Theater, and I even helped start the first Robotics team that is still around at my high school today!
Women’s History Month is important to me because I feel like I’m a collection of the finest women around me. My resume speaks volumes of the teachers, coaches, managers and coworkers that push me to my highest potential while encouraging me to stay as weird as possible.
As a completely tattooed and pierced business owner, coach and athlete, I hope to motivate women to choose themselves and their dreams over anyone else’s. Look how YOU want to look. Go to school to learn about what YOU want to learn about. Play the sports YOU want to play. And love the people YOU want to love. Do that part with 150%.

When I think about my role, I think about wanting to make sure that every Snoozer feels secure, has a safe place, and feels encouraged to be who they are. I love that I get to show up as me! I’ve worked a lot of service industry jobs, and Snooze is different – in the best way!
I am passionate about mental health advocacy, and am very vocal about neuro-divergences and helping people not feel alone. As someone with ADHD who wasn’t diagnosed until 28, I know sometimes all you need is for someone to tell you you’re not alone.
This month is Women’s History Month, and I’m proud to celebrate this month every single day of the year by supporting women-owned businesses, connecting with other strong women and using my voice to amplify marginalized women when possible!

In 2020 during the pandemic lockdown, my friends and I started Rolling for Rights. A peaceful protest where over 3k skateboarders boarded through the city of SD to fight against racial injustice and systemic racism. Skateboarding is all inclusive and we used that unity to be a part of the change.
February is Black History Month – a time to let the world know that we stand with our people. I’ve seen a lot of struggles in the Black Community, and I’m trying to help make change as much as possible. I like to recognize the many great black leaders and inventors who have made an impact throughout history.

At Snooze, I get to be exactly who I am, and be as passionate and positive as I desire. Growing up, I had a lot of dreams: become a TV chef, an artist, and a rapper. And now, I’m proud to successfully be pursing each of those passions.
I recognize Black History Month as a celebration to acknowledge the way the black community has changed the game with innovative creations and influenced our culture. Black History Month is important to me because a personal goal of mine is to be recognized as someone who has made black history. Being a good and influential person is my number one purpose.
Meet National Young Farmers Coalition
An Organization Snooze Supports In Their Advocacy for Young Farmers From All Backgrounds.
The National Young Farmers Coalition is a multiracial coalition united by a vision for a just future where farming is free of racial violence, oriented towards environmental well-being, and concerned with health over profit. Land access is the number one challenge faced by farmers in their network, and is an issue that affects Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) farmers disproportionately. 65% of Black farmers, specifically cited in their 2022 National Young Farmer Survey, reported finding affordable land to buy extremely challenging.
This Black History Month, our partners at The National Young Farmers Coalition are working to achieve their vision by advocating for policy reform, building a network of engaged partner organizations, and offering resources, all through a commitment to collaboration, partnership, and equity.
